Babies on Board

Shane and I kept it quiet that we were ready to start trying to have a family. We both felt this was something private between the two of us. If we ran into problems, we would make it known but until then, it was just between us.
Surprisingly, we didn't have to wait very long! In mid-February, we took our first pregnancy test and found out we were pregnant. We couldn't believe it. I actually told Shane I was going to go upstairs to change into my pj's and wash my face. I saw the test in the cabinet and thought, "Why not?" Before I could turn on the water, there were double lines! I calmly called Shane upstairs as if I was in need of something. Once he got upstairs, I said, "Umm...we're pregnant!"
For the next couple weeks we kept the news under wraps. The plan was to tell everyone after our first doctor’s appointment. Unfortunately it didn't end up that way. Like many mother-to-be's, I was experiencing MAJOR morning sickness and needed to tell work. So, we decided to inform our family. This was a lot of fun. Everyone seemed surprised.
That next week (Tuesday, March 17) we had our first appointment. Then came the real shocker...
We were informed there are two babies, identical twins! At the time of the appointment, we were in shock. Shane took the news a lot better than I did. I was so emotional and overwhelmed by the news (maybe he was too but he controls his emotions a lot better than I do).
We sat out in the parking lot for the next 45 minutes calling family. We wish there would have been a way to record their reactions over the phone seeing how we didn't get to share the news face-to-face. The reactions were priceless and comforting! It was truly AWESOME!
Here are a few pictures of the babies...
Today, we are thrilled and feel we have been blessed from above. We just pray our angels are watching over our pregnancy to keep the babies healthy.

What a wonderful way to keep us all informed. I was just looking at the pictures of my next "two" grandchildren. I wake up every morning with a smile on my face; still not quite sure it really is true.

Grandchildren are the ultimate gift from God. There are no words to describe the feeling you feel when you first hold that new little grandchild. It was wonderful when you held your child in your arms the first time; but to hold your child's child(ren) is the ultimate.

Can't wait to hold my next "two" grandbabies.

Love all "four" of you

I'm sure it's very normal to feel overwhelmed when you find out you are having twins. Especially when you are first time parents! You'll both be great parents. Thanks for sharing the blog. I look to reading the progress!
